Yes, but always check your company's policies first. When you receive the invoice for services these cards can be used just like a credit card. Your company may request a copy of the invoice, specific medical diagnosis, or other information after the payment is processed, which can then be provided if necessary.
Yes. The United States Food and Drug Administration approves all prescription medications. Some are available as generic medicines at retail pharmacies, and some are obtained through licensed compounding pharmacies. Some medicines do have a reason (called a contraindication) why they should not be taken. During your individual consultation we will discuss these and what option(s) will be the best fit for you based on your treatment goals.
Obesity is considered, medically, to be a disease like high blood pressure. Studies show that if you stop treatment for obesity after reaching your goal weight, most people regain the weight they lost, or at least about 80% of it, within a year. This does not mean you will need the exact same treatment for the rest of your life. But, if you go back to doing the things that resulted in the weight gain before starting your weight loss medication, then you will regain the weight you lost. As your partner in this journey, this is something we work on and discuss together.
You can use your insurance for labs I order, and medicines sent to retail pharmacies, but not for medications from a compounding pharmacy. We can discuss the reasons why during your visit. Unfortunately, most insurance will not cover these medications and the compounding pharmacy allows them to be available when they otherwise may not be.
I do not at this time file any insurance claims through this office. I can, at your request, provide you with documentation which outlines the medical diagnosis you are being treated for and the plan of care. Depending on each individual's insurance plan you may be reimbursed a portion of your payment, usually at an out of network rate.
STEP 1: I offer various telehealth services focused on physical and mental health and helping individuals return to or maintain their optimal state of health. If you have questions about whether this is the right approach for you and what we can potentially achieve working together, call us, and we can discuss whether partnering is a good fit and go from there.
STEP 2: If you know your health concerns, schedule your initial visit, and you will receive forms to complete that will help during our initial visit together. There may be lab work I will order, and this can often be done at your preferred lab. If you have had recent labs performed, send them to me through the patient portal once you receive a link before your scheduled appointment. During your initial visit, we will discuss your history and goals, treatment options, and plan of care based on your goals (45-60 minutes via video). I may need to order labs, which will be discussed during your visit. Labs can be significantly discounted for cash pay or billed to your insurance.
STEP 3: If labs are ordered when the results are received, results will be discussed and explained. Any adjustment in the treatment course with medications or supplements will be discussed. After the initial visit, you will have video visits per your individual care plan to discuss your progress and concerns and ask me any questions. Of course I am always available for any questions or concerns that come up between scheduled visits.
